Англійська мова – The Numeral. Числівник

Числівник — частина мови, яка називає кількість чи порядок предметів при лічбі. Розрізняють порядкові числівники, які відповідають на питання «котрий?/котра?/котре?» та кількісні, які відповідають на питання «скільки?».

Правила читання та написання

697 = six hundred and ninety-seven
3402 = three thousand, four hundred and two
80 534 = eighty thousand, five hundred and thirty-four
Можна казати onehundred, onethousand тощо, замість a hundred, a thousand,тоді, коли важливо наголосити, що йдеться саме про одну сотню, тисячу і т. ін. У числівниках більших за тисячу вживають кому або пробіл: 1,200 та 1 200.
